1) Any women here experience weight gain on period days? If yes, what’s the average gain and how long does it take to loose it?
Plus, is there any particular strategy around keeping this at bay?

2) Is anyone here on a low carb (not ketogenic) diet?
If yes, what are the macro ratios that have worked for you for weight loss.

Thank you all for your responses in advance.

I’m thinking keyten is low carb

Rosio: I googled Keyten but not finding anything. I’m thinking maybe that was a typo for keto. I tried keto successfully 2 years ago but it threw off an already existing thyroid autoimmune disorder I had and I gained all the weight back trying to heal my endocrine system. Expensive in hospital bills too. So, I’m trying to find something safer for me. Thank you for taking the time to respond!

Eve: Thank you so much for the detailed feedback! I’m a researcher and appreciate details very much. I will look into the induction Atkins some more and probably go the high protein route...I know I need protein. What’s been your highest net carb gram that has still kept you in ketosis? I know 25g will be detrimental to my health so trying to watch that closely. I have just begun IF but currently doing 16:8. Also adding some gym isometric time to build strength and a lil cardio. I’m 33 and average 1430 calories per day. Only been able to loose 3lbs in 3 weeks. My iron also dropped real bad so that set me back. Hoping to find a safe and effective medium soon. Thank you so much for your post!

My period brings a little extra hunger and a couple extra pounds for 3-4 days then I lose more than I started with. Cannot speak to question 2. IDK

I can gain up to 5 pounds the week of my period. It goes away after 4ish days. But yes, the cravings can be bad during those days. I crave sweets- and I rarely like sweets other days.

Oh and Keyten77 just left this message for someone else (regarding low carb but non-Keto): Keyten77 Yup, the Mediterranean Diet isn't on there too because it's moderate carb 😁 It's a balanced-healthy one that naturally creates a calorie deficit because a vital part of the MD is exercise/movement.

1-2 lb weight gain during period is totally normal thing. Body is trying to store everything you eat plus water accumulates in internal organs. Best way to keep yourself of sweets and fats. If you body is craving sugar that means it missing out on complex carbs. So make sure you eat enough grains during the first part of the day (brown rice, quinoa, buckwheat, durum nuddles and pasta, etc). 10 nuts a day will be good for your hormones. But don't eat too much. Nuts =fats. So need to watch every single nut u eat. I usually eat 10 almonds every other day. Dinners Should be full of juicy vegetables and lean protein. Try to lean of salt. Salt makes all the water u consume stay in your body. While it has to be washed out. Which again makes u gain wait from water. This way you can eat good stuff stay full but not bloated. And after the storm is gone, u will see u didn't gain anything)) 😘

Thank you for the correction Eve Swan, and Thank you Jcmama. Also thank you for all the supporters who have hearted this message. You were all right about the water weight. It’s now gone and my weight is looking more like the expected 1lb loss per week. I’m encouraged!
