I barbecue year round, it's an addiction. In this picture from top left, that's a tub of manteca (lard), LouAna coconut oil, Vainilla Tecul, pink Himalayan sea salt, Hull drip pattern coffee cup, Tony Cachere's Creole seasoning, & St. Louis cut spare ribs smoked over red oak, pretty much everything you need to sustain life.

Pork ribs are my favorite thing to barbecue, followed by hot links or any other kind of link sausage, brisket, then pork shoulder. I got a strong urge to do a corned beef brisket, smoke one of those and you got pastrami.

Heard the definition of Addiction recently, and it is described as a destructive action you do against your own will. There must be a better word for BBQ. Passion maybe? Wish I had some of that. Wish for you to do some youtubing or similar, for some inspiration. I'd be on that. Haven't got much confidence with BBQ. Glad to be reminded. Looks delish, and you risk getting 'too old' with this lifestyle. lol

I have absolutely no objection to replacing the word addiction with passion! I know that you could barbecue, the first time you transformed a rack of ribs into something magical, you, too, would be hooked.

I was on Hunger Games rations for most of July, hoping to fire up the pit again this weekend. Unfortunately H-E-B hasn't got any good barbecue deals this week so I might have to wait until next week.

Pecan, state tree of Texas, is a species of hickory. I don't use mesquite, it's a little strong. And I was j/k JerseyGal. 😂
