Why is it so much easier to stick to it at work than on weekends. GGGGRRR. I did well Saturday but Sunday was the undoing. So frustrating when you do good all week and then let the muchies and the cravings get the best of me. I wish I could turn it off once I start. Unfortunately I then get the 'Well what the heck, might as well do it up right, I have already messed up for the day'. Trying to let it go and look at today as new day, new opportunity.

Even if you eat like crap one day of the week, you're still eating well six day of the week. I would suspect that's better than previously? There is power in positive thinking.

Perhaps you are missing out on a particular nutrient and your body is screaming for it and doesn't care where it gets it from. What you could do is when you have the munchies you could eat something healthy like fruit or veggies. Or you could incorporate small bits of what you are craving (if it's unhealthy) into your daily diet and make sure you eat only a serving or less. It also helps if you already have your meals planned out because then it is easier for you to stick to your diet. Also try not to think of it as a diet but more of a lifestyle change, because if you want to keep off the weight you lost you will have to keep doing what you did to loose it. Also if your meals are boring try and spice them up a bit and try new things and its okay to have a cheat day every so often as long as you get right back on track and don't make a habit out of cheating. It works for me! Hope that helps :)

It is very difficult to control old eating habits if we have had them for a long time. Sunshine is right, incorporate small munchies into your weekly diet and learn how to adjust to having small amounts of a snack. For example, I have premeasured snack bags of nuts or apples so that when I have a craving, I drink a large glass of water and eat the bagged snack very slowly. This is how I also get water in. Sometimes when our bodies want what we think is a snack, it really is that we are needing water. Also have you ever heard of pintrest? You can get some really healthy snack ideas from there that will be different then what you are already trying. Sometime we just want something different, not just sweet.

Thank you for the helpful hints. I do get in a rut of eating the same things. And you are exactly right, I keep telling myself this is a lifestyle change not a diet bc obviously dieting has not worked in the past as look where I am! Thank you for the advice!
