First of all, I've been fortunate to be able to avoid that trap and good for you to decide to make this change for finances. Have you considered a lunch bag? They come with reusable frozen inserts. That may broaden your lunch choices without having to leave it in the company fridge (I hate that .. others touching my food - yes I need therapy). But if avoiding both I like those tuna packages for a quick protein pick me up lunch. Babybel cheese minis. Paleo beef sticks.  

Fruit, but only for snacking 

I always forget to freeze the inserts lol I’ll have to try that. And I love the tuna packets 🥰 

Unless you’re working outside in the heat, most food items sitting outside of a fridge for a few hours aren’t going to go bad. Some things certainly taste better when they’re colder though. 

I walk during lunch and listen to an audio book on my headphones.

I always make more of our dinners from the night before and have it for lunch the next day. Left over lunches are the best! 

my husband takes a lunch box with frozen ice things that he uses to keep his food cool.
