It's Monday. I noticed that My pants and belt fit more comfortably this morning than they did on friday! Wow, really? Already a noticeable difference? Yes indeed. I also notice my upper body looking slimmer in the mirror. Of course, it's the belly weight that is always the last to go. :( urg.

So far everything is going well. I used the diet and exercise logs to track my caloric intake and output and calculate my RDI. I have some concerns about the vast difference between what fatsecret.com reccomends (3900) and the total caloric intake of Isagenix (1600) if I were to follow it strictly. The Isagenix Program is less than half of what fatsecret is! Yikes. My understanding is that if the body is starved of calories, it will begin to metabolize muscle tissue as well as fat.... which I definitely don't want to happen. The idea is to lose fat, but GAIN muscle mass. My understanding from the Isagenix philosophy is that by providing the necessary nurtrients, the body will not metabolize muscle in spite of caloric deficiency.

Of course I'm not sure if this is true or not. There is so much information and disinformation out there it seems impossible to know who to believe. I've decided that the only thing to do is to experiment. I've decided to go the middle ground. I'm following the Isagenix system and eating clean, nutrient rich food, but I'm being a little more liberal with my caloric intake. My average has been around 2000 Calories with the exception of Sunday which was 2800 (still a 2100 deficit to my RDI.)

If my records and fatsecrets RDI is correct, I should have lost nearly 3 pounds of fat in the past four days... In addition to any extra water weight lost.

Wednesday will be my first cleanse day. I feel pretty prepared, and commited to it. Thursday... or Friday will be my first weigh in day.
