It was an awesome Independence Day! I spent it with my family, and oh yeah I ate...within reason. My adrenals have been acting up so I haven't been able to exercise to the intensity I would like so that means watching my intake. Yesterday I had 1 rib, cut the giant chicken breast in 1/2, had just a little potato salad, and a very, very small helping of dirt cake. And I was full. I ate slowly, drank a lot of water and green tea, and watched as everyone got seconds. I didn't feel deprived because I didn't beat myself up for eating. I didn't do anything Wrong or Bad.
I also played with my favorite exercise accessory, my nephew (Kaiju). We ran. We jumped. We danced. We marched. I carried him around.
Most importantly, I had a good time with my family. I'm getting ready to move to AZ, across the country from them. There's only a finite number of times the 6 of us will all be together, healthy, happy, laughing. When I look back I won't care about what I ate. I'll remember the smiles, the happy, the things that have nothing to do with food.
Now...time for Kenpo and a swim!
