Today was my sister's birthday. I made a big sushi style supper for her, her fellow, my daughter, her fellow and the two grandkids and my husband. I couldn't believe the work it was to get it done. I ended up prepping about 6 hours yesterday and did another 3 hours today. Everyone seemed to really enjoy it. I made/served: Ginger Beef (not battered), sushi rice, shrimp stacks, salmon cakes with an avocado sauce, big vegetable platter, mango, sliced avocado, pickled turnip, and a chocolate amaretto cheesecake with wild blueberries for dessert.

That looks fabulous! beautiful spread. I know, prepping and cooking always takes me like 3 times as long as it is supposed to take. Especially with multiple dishes. The veggie platter is so pretty, and i almost licked the screen with the salmon cakes and avo.

Thank you for all of your kind comments! I was especially pleased that it was fairly calorie friendly. I got a some of the recipes from Skinnytaste. However it was easy to eat more than a serving of each item! I thought I had made a lot and would send leftovers home. Fact was nearly nothing is left. The grandkids and my sister got to pack a lunch each and the rest is in my frig in 3 small containers. My sister requested sushi bowls and Chocolate Amaretto Cheese cake the rest was on me!
