I got the bodybugg, wear it all day and it calculates my calories burned which doesn't match up very well with what I enter in as my exercise here. So my exercise may not show up properly here as I just do whatever to try to make it match to what my bodybugg says. I was really disappointed to find out that my body wasn't burning as many calories as I thought (according to the BodyBugg), so I have to now modify the FatSecret activity - looks like I slept and rested all day, but really, maybe that's why I was not losing that much weight even with moderate exercise. For my body to react, I think I need to step it up.
I was also really hungry last night! I cheated after I had already met my calorie max. I ate a plum, 4 peanut butter crackers and a small bowl of cereal before my stomach stopped grumbling and I could go to sleep. Arggh! What's with that? That wasnt' even emotional eating which is what I was more prepared to battle.
But I did join an exercise challenge and started first thing this morning. Made me feel better. Great way to start the day.

Welcome back Doodlehead. I log my exercise (and food too) as close as I can here. As an example, my Nike fitness app on my iPod helps me with how far I walk and an average speed, but it doesn't always calculate right here. I estimate as best I can. FatSecret has helped me to realize how much I am eating and when I am not exercising enough, but I know it won't be exact. :) I am in this for the long term too and have made this a lifestyle change for better health.

I've got a bodymedia fit and love it! I've been wearing it for over a year now and have lost 80 lbs. I really think it was b/c of this simple device. It gave me the motivation to keep going and to make sure I burned more calories. I don't log my exercise here, but I do keep track of my meal intake and then make sure I have a deficit. Personally, I aim for 750-1000 calorie deficit. I'm in the home stretch so the weight loss has slowed for me, but I'm still working at it. I think I would have given up by now if it weren't for my bodymedia fit.

Thanks kimjinxie - It's good to be back! I just saw your profile. I thought I was the only 45 year old that loved hiking, the outdoors AND loves electronic games (though our system is the xbox, not PS and I haven't had as much time to play lately). I feel validated! LOL. I'm not the only gamer-nature nerd around. :)
NCNOLE--Wow, 80 pounds. Congratulations! It definitely is inspiring for me to hear others success stories. The bodybugg definitely motivates me too as I record the calories burned at the end of the day, and throughout the day, it definitely makes me more mindful.
OH -- and I just found a way to record my bodybugg results. When you choose other in the exercise log, you can then create an activity. I just enter in the title "BodyBugg Cal Burned Daily" and then put in the calories from the full day's result - I replace "resting". I then do it again with a similar title, and just enter in 1 calorie to replace "sleeping". That way I get the more accurate calories burned.
